Vĩnh Long for Ceremony and Distribution

Started the Thursday morning at 5:30am with a car and driver picking us up for the 2 1/2 hour trip to Vinh Long Province.  We picked up Mr. Le Tien Nam, the expert coordinator for Vinh Long Union of Friendship who has helped us with the Flood Relief Aid and went on to Binh Tan District for the ceremony and distribution of a portion of the sweet potato seedlings, fertilizer and insecticides Latter-day Saint Charities was donating.

The Ceremony held on 29 December 2011, with the officials and 80 of the 330 farmers and their families that relief aid helped by providing sweet potato seedlings, fertilizer and insecticides.
The officials really appreciation everything we do to help the poor families!  We received framed award letters and a very nice statue from the Vinh Long Chairman of the People's Committee, Binh Tan District, Committee Chairwoman and Than Loi Commune Peoples Committee.
Felix and I had to cross this VERY narrow bridge to get to the fields!

We are helping to put bundles of sweet potato seedlings into big sacks to give out to the farmers.

Felix is in his element!  He is helping to plant sweet potato seedlings with the workers in the field.  A true 'man of the soil'.

A very happy farmer!
