WOW! It's been a while!

School Kits and Hygiene Kits for the "Open House" Orphanage is the last project we did for 2011. 

2012 is the "YEAR OF THE DRAGON" ...

and there are dragons here.....

....and on top of stores....


METRO is like a Cosco or Sam's Club in Vietnam.  We shop here for the large purchases for our humanitarian projects and to stock-up for ourselves too.

New Year's is celebrated 22 January - 30 January and not too many people are working - even in this big mega-city!

       and every where!!!

We attended the Young Women's "New Beginnings" Program - the first one to be held in the Ho Chi Minh Branch...

We had time to play at the parks....

...and, allow Felix to relax and catch-up in his journal writing!

On 14 January 2012, our Cub Scout Pack #107 had a Day Camp.  We participated in a Conservation Project picking up trash along the 3km walking path in Lakeview Villas, District 9 of HCMC. 

Kevin Stanton, Wolf Leader; Felix Blinn Cub Master; Tana Stanton, Assistant; Jan Blinn, Webelos Leader; and Theresa Bird, Tiger Leader and Assistant Wolf Leader.  The boys are: Jacob, Murso, Jared, Tommy, AZ, James, Tuan and missing boys are Brandon and his little brother (can't remember his names).

The project for giving Newborn Kits to poor mothers at a hospital in District 8 was the next activity.  Friday, 20 January 2012 we rented a van and took 35 Newborn Kits to the poor mothers in the hospital who would be going home for the big New Year's celebrations.

 My two crazy granddaughters with funky hats! 

Must be a "teenager thing"!
